Construction, Deconstruction - Marc Thomas

Winner of the Turner prize for Art, ’House’ was a negative of the original building cast in concrete and was situated at the north end of Grove Road, London. Commissioned by Artangel

Floors of the structure were bolted together, a release agent was then applied to the internal walls and reinforcing bar wired together internally creating a former.
Each room was then sprayed with concrete creating a box 100mm thick

Once all rooms had been sprayed the structure was sealed and all external brickwork was removed carefully, creating sculpture.
